What is a doula?
& What does having a doula consist of?
What is a doula?
A doula is someone who is providing you with emotional and physical support as well as helping you make informative decisions and know all of your options with your pregnancy as well as delivery.
As your doula, I am not just focused on you, but your partner as well. I offer guidance in how to support you and what to do for you. Every question they may have to better understand what you are going through. In labor, we are working as a team to encourage you to finish line of meeting your baby. Having a doula allows your partner to eat, take a bathroom break, and rest without leaving you on your own.
Why get a birth photographer?
“Why would anyone want photos of that?!” I hear this far too often. What I am photographing is not just of a baby physically coming out or the process of a cesarean.
I am capturing the moments leading up to and all of the firsts after. The first time you look at your baby. Your baby’s first breath. The first kiss you lay upon your baby’s head. And so so much more that you will one day cherish.
I capture the story of your transition to motherhood. All of your “I can’t”s and vulnerability. All of your strength and power.
I capture the bond between you and your partner as you become a new family. The teamwork that comes naturally. Every eye contact made. Every white knuckled hand grasp. Every sweet, loving and motivating kisses laid along your body.
